NJ Ayuk: Advocate for Better Living Condition in Africa
Building hospitals, industrializing, and improving education all require energy. Some regions have a greater need for this resource than others. Africa is one of those regions that often get overlooked. Oil companies, businesses, and governments in Africa’s interests do not coincide with the interests of Africans. NJ Ayuk, founder and CEO of Centurion Law Group, aims to change that by providing his law skills to get a win-win situation for more energy and human rights.
NJ Ayuk Approach
NJ Ayuk, the chairman of the African Energy Chamber, started his career at the United Nations. He believes that freedom, individual liberty, limited government, and free markets play a critical role in the development of society. Gender-based violence and human rights are two of his main concerns in Africa. As a member of the future generation of Africa, Ayuk hopes to help Africa thrive in this ever-changing environment and economy. So, he became a champion for the disadvantaged while maintaining a relationship with big energy companies to achieve his goal.
Ayuk decided to continue his studies in America, where he realized that social and economic growth requires energy. When it came to making progress, Ayuk discovered that cross-industry collaboration was necessary. This means working with energy companies because many issues stem from a need for more energy.
Unfortunately, over half a billion people are without electricity, and almost a billion people are without access to safe cooking methods in Africa, and most are women. With these statistics, Ayuk realized that working with energy companies is vital. Ayuk now understood that Africans needed more energy for a better standard of living and that living conditions in his home country needed to be elevated. So, he put his legal skills to work by putting African issues in front of every politician or elected official. Whether it is a president, minister, or corporation, Ayuk is driven to elevate the energy issues in Africa.
About NJ Ayuk
Ayuk is an attorney, chairman of the African Energy Chamber, and the CEO of a leading law firm. He is well known for his oil and power deals. With a bullish outlook on the future, he has heavily invested in the firm and innovative technology. He provides local and international advice to businesses and governments. In his opinion, law firms can play a significant role in social engineering. Ayuk specializes in the African energy sector and supports African entrepreneurs. He has extensive experience managing African natural resource investments, from negotiating, structuring, and implementing them.
Ayuk grew up as a self-described radical activist whose ambitions revolved around social justice for the underprivileged. His mentor was the civil rights icon Dr. Ronald Walters. He better understood how economic justice and corporate profits work, particularly in Africa and the energy industry. Ayuk regarded himself as more than just a contract specialist.
Education
NJ Ayuk completed much of his formative education in the United States. He holds a degree in Government and politics from the University of Maryland College Park and a Juris Doctor in Law from William Mitchell College of Law. Ayuk also earned an MBA from the New York Institute of Technology.
