Nick Millican Shares the Top Borough Hotspots in London

Nick Millican comments about the UK´s housing trends. When buyers search for new UK homes, they pay careful attention to the neighborhood. When you buy or rent property, no one tells you the neighborhood is part of the deal until you move there.

Nick Milligan discovered three UK boroughs where buyer demand is higher than 100% courtesy of Foxtons; Dulwich has seen a 153% increase in inquiries compared to last year. The green spaces and art galleries have lured celebrities and the younger generation to the south London area.

Rightmove voted the cool and hip area “London’s Trendiest Neighborhood.” Industry insiders dubbed Dulwich the “Hampstead of the South”, Nick Millican comments. Speaking of Hampstead, the northern London borough is another neighborhood that experienced an increase from last year. It is a wealthy section of London where many celebrities and upper-class residents live.

The slash in home prices and plenty of green spaces took the area to a 104% inquiry increase. At 101%, the third borough is Ilford. The East London neighborhood is a suburban area with historic and modern architecture. Nick Millican shares how the inquiry influx is impressive despite Ilford not being as glamorous or celebrity-driven as the other two. Having a city near the Elizabeth Line is a benefit.

For those unaware, the Elizabeth Line is a 73-mile railway connecting Ilford and surrounding areas to Central London. Nick Millican also discovered that buyer-applicant inquiries are up 41% across the board compared to last year. The upward trend is positive despite recent mortgage rate increases and fewer homes available. As we head toward the busiest months of the year, industry insiders expect determined buyers to increase.
