H.I.G. Capital Strengthens Market Position with Strategic Acquisitions

H.I.G. Capital, a prominent Miami-based global alternative investment firm, has been making headlines with a series of strategic acquisitions that are set to bolster its market position across multiple sectors. These calculated moves underline the firm’s commitment to diversifying its portfolio and seizing growth opportunities.

On August 27, 2024, H.I.G. Capital announced a major acquisition through its portfolio company, Hibu Inc. Hibu successfully acquired RevLocal, LLC, a leading provider of digital marketing solutions for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in the United States. The merger aims to enhance Hibu’s market presence by integrating RevLocal’s capabilities, enabling the company to offer a comprehensive, all-in-one digital marketing solution to over 70,000 SMBs.

In a separate transaction on August 13, 2024, H.I.G. Capital expanded its footprint in the property maintenance market by acquiring Axis Europe Limited, a top-tier provider of property maintenance services in the UK. This acquisition will be combined with H.I.G.’s existing portfolio company, CLC Group, creating a national property maintenance specialist with significant operational synergies. John Hayes, Founder and CEO of Axis, highlighted the merger’s potential to create a contractor of notable scale.

Further solidifying its presence in the property sector, H.I.G. Capital also announced an investment in Ascension Property Services (APS) on July 25, 2024. Based in Tennessee, APS specializes in providing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services to commercial and industrial properties. Jon Contos, Managing Director at H.I.G., expressed optimism about the partnership, noting the potential to broaden service offerings across new geographies.

These acquisitions reflect H.I.G. Capital’s strategic approach to growth and diversification. The firm, which currently manages $65 billion in capital, has a track record of investing in and managing over 400 companies globally. Matt Gullen, another Managing Director at H.I.G., emphasized that these acquisitions are pivotal to the firm’s growth strategy, ensuring it remains a leading player in multiple industries.

As H.I.G. Capital continues to expand its portfolio, industry analysts are keenly observing the firm’s next moves. With its robust investment strategy and a growing list of acquisitions, H.I.G. Capital is poised to maintain its influential status in the investment world.
