Ben Roethlisberger: From Football Player to Philanthropist

While most people are familiar with the name Ben Roethlisberger as a quarterback for the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers since his debut in 2004, the truth is that this one man is deeply invested in several charitable and philanthropic endeavors. Now retired from his days passing pigskin, this article is focused on highlighting those community efforts that bear Roethlisberger’s influence and name.

The Roethlisberger Family Foundation

Ben Roethlisberger holds a deep level of appreciation and recognition of the support from God and family. His stated goal for this charity is to help keep families close, especially the relationships between fathers and sons. As a father and man of faith himself, married with three children, Roethlisberger wants to do his part to instill God’s love and strength into the bonds of other families.

Light of Life Rescue Mission

One of Roethlisberger’s other charitable endeavors was the “Different” t-shirt campaign back. For each purchase of a $25 black-and-gold tee sold in support of recording artist Micah Tyler, Roethlisberger would match the purchase and all funds from the purchase and Roethlisberger’s matched value were put toward feeding one homeless citizen of Pittsburgh. This was a campaign that lasted throughout 2021 and said t-shirts are now only available on the secondary market.

NeoLight

Roethlisberger’s family supports this company in the capacity of a celebrity supporter. NeoLight’s purpose is to help mothers care for jaundiced children by freely loaning out special phototherapy lights to hospitals and clinics. NeoLight is a special lighting equipment that is used to counteract the effect of jaundice, a condition that is the chief reason for babies to be re-admitted to medical care facilities.

A Man With a Mission

While a terror on the field, Roethlisberger is nothing but compassionate for humanity. His efforts to help families, the sick, and the homeless are a testament to that. Visit this article to learn more.
